Modellismo in scala 1/72: Realizzare edifici e strade con il polistirolo "Eulithe"

Ho trovato il polistirolo Eulithe presso la ditta Abbiati Wargames di Erba (Co) durante fa fiera Model game di Bologna qualche hanno fa..

Questo polistirolo, mischiato a resine, è perfetto per realizzare ogni tipo di edificio e di strada, bisogna saper solo disegnare ed incidere.

La lavorazione è limitata a disegnare, con un tratto leggero (per non incidere), i particolari da riprodurre sul polistirolo e inciderli con una punta metallica o altro.

Consiglio di procedere in questa maniera:

1)Disegno la forma di base da riprodurre ( la parete di un edificio , la sezione di strada) e la ritaglio con l'aiuto di un taglierino affiliato;

2)Disegno i vari particolari che andranno poi ritagliati (porte - finestre) o incisi (mattoni, contrafforti ecc..);

3)Dopo aver eliminato le parti da rimuovere (porte, finestre, zone danneggiate) comincio ad incidere i particolari con una punta di metallo (tipo ago o punta da compasso) o ad asportare materiale (per eventuali danni, o volumi diversi;

4)Ad ogni incisione consiglio di asportare la polvere - che è abbondante - con un pennello, per lavorare in maniera pulita (eventualmente indossate una mascherina protettiva);

5)Aggiungo eventuali dettagli in altri materiale (legno, plastica, metallo) che incollerò con Cianoacrilato;

Quando il pezzo è pronto, suggerisco di passare su tutte le parti di Eulithe una miscela di acqua e colla Vinilica o di Stucco bianco da muro molto fine (diluito con abbondante acqua e in più passaggi), per eliminare l'eccesso di porosità e riempire eventuali solchi troppo profondi (anche per simulare il cemento tra i mattoni);

Una mano di Primer completa il pezzo e lo rende pronto per la verniciatura.

I have found Eulithe polystyrene from " Abbiati Wargames - Erba (Co) "during a Model fair in Bologna some years ago. This resin-based

polystyrene is perfect in order to make every type of building

and road pavement.

The work is limited to draw, with very lights tracts (in order to not engrave),the details on polystyrene and to engrave them with

a metallic tip or other.

I suggest to proceed in this way:

1)Draw the basic shape (the wall of a building, the section of a

road) and cut it with the aid of an affiliated cutter;

2)Draw the details that will go to cut (doors - windows)

or engraved (bricks, stones etc.);

3)Eliminate the parts to remove with a sharp cutter( doors, windows, damaged zones) and start to engrave the details with a metal tip

(needle or tip from compass) or remove material(for eventual

damages, or give various volumes);

4)After engraving details I suggest to remove the powder - that it is abundant - with a paint-brush , in order to work in clean way

(eventually worn a protecting mask);

5)Add other details in different materials (wood, plastic, metal) that you will glue with Cyanoacrilate glue.

When the piece is ready, I suggest to coat the surface (only on Eulithe parts) with a mixture of water and Vynilic glue or, better, Fine wall plaster (diluted with very abundant water - more passages are the best), in order to eliminate the porosity

excess and to fill up unrealistic too deep engrave

(also for simulate the plaster between the bricks).

A hand of Primer complete the piece that is ready for painting.

Realizzazione di un muro con più volumi e differenti textures, le parti danneggiate sono state scheggiate con un cutter affilato inserendolo dal bordo e sollevando il polistirolo;
Reproducing a wall with different textures and volumes, damaged parts are been splinted with a sharp cutter inserted in the side of the wall.
